Welcome from the Principal

Welcome to
Toowoomba Christian College

Picking a school for your child to attend is a very important decision and is one that requires confidence in ‘this school’ being the right school for your family. As you explore Toowoomba Christian College, I know you will be impressed by the robust nature of our education program, as well as the nurturing and dedicated staff community available to our students. I am also confident you will find more than you expect across both our facilities and campus.

Since its inception in 1979, the mission of Toowoomba Christian College has been to provide a Christian education that prepares students in spirit, soul and body to serve the Living God in today’s world. We recognise that each student has been made imago dei (in the image of God) and so as Christian educators, we aim to not only impart knowledge, but also help each student desire and pursue the truth and wisdom of God in their own lives.

At Toowoomba Christian College, our unique Prep-Year 12 curriculum focuses on the formation of each student. We aim to cultivate an understanding of history, an appreciation of good literature, and a love of music and the Arts, believing that each of these work toward the formation of rightly ordered loves (ordo amoris) within an individual. Beyond job-preparedness, our desire at TCC is to form young people of Godly wisdom and character, who recognise the transcendence of God’s Truth, Beauty and Goodness in the world. We are a Christian School in the Liberal Arts Tradition because we believe it to be the best educational approach to achieve this purpose.

We believe the Liberal Arts connect students to the wider story of humanity, and ultimately provides a framework for each individual to understand the world and their place in it. The pursuit of God’s truth is at the centre of our approach to education, and we believe that encountering and knowing this truth is the key to liberation for each individual. The goal of our educational philosophy is to help young people imagine the world as it should be and equip them to play their part in making that vision a reality.

“Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.”
– Colossians 1:28 ESV
