School-based Apprenticeships and Traineeships

In most cases, students undertaking a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship attend work one day a week (for which they are paid), they can withdraw from a Senior High Elective to gain time at school to assist them to complete the training needed for the associated certificate qualification. Employers receive government incentives for employing a school-based trainee or apprentice.

For more information, visit Queensland Government Apprenticeship Information. Once logged in, the School-based Apprenticeship or Traineeship and Full Time Vacancies page is available to current students and parents. Current students who are interested in, would like to apply for, or have been offered a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship by an employer are asked to complete the College's School-Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship Expression of Interest Form, available from the Careers Room webpage under the School-based Apprenticeships, Traineeships and Full Time Vacancies tab, and make an appointment to meet with the College’s Careers Officer, Mr Glyn Reinbott
